Dr. Small directs the Longevity Center. He is a past president of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry. He is also a member of the Herbalife Nutrition Advisory Board.

Dr. Small was among the team of investigators that discovered the major known genetic risk for Alzheimer’s disease. He is a co-inventor of the first positron emission tomography scan method that can provide images of the physical evidence of Alzheimer’s disease in living people.
